Gerardo Coello Escalante is a Mexican filmmaker currently based in Brooklyn, New York. He was born and raised in Mexico City.  

In 2013, he moved to New York and got his BFA in Film & TV Production at New York University (NYU).

 He has worked professionally in Narrative and Publicity content both in Mexico and New York, having Directed various short films of his own.  

His feature film “Forgive Us Sinners” was chosen to be one of the fiction projects at the 2018 Sundance Creative Producing Summit. In 2019 it was selected as one of the ten projects at the Sundance Screenwriters Intensive.

He has worked as a Freelance Director, Editor and Producer in New York since 2017. His feature film credits include "Tyrel" (2018 Sundance Film Festival), "Little Woods" (2018 Tribeca Film Festival) and "Standing Up Falling Down" (2019 Tribeca Film Festival).
